[dropcap]I[/dropcap] am passionate about connecting women and food. I’ve used my experience in event planning and strategy to marry my two passions into one amazing concept. You know your working on something you love when time and exhaustion don’t factor. I’m originally from Los Angeles, CA. I’ve been in Melbourne three years working in digital strategy at a global advertising agency. I like my day job but love Les Femmes Forum.

[dropcap]L[/dropcap]es Femmes Forum curates unique experiences specifically designed for women. By coupling rare spaces with passionate chefs and intriguing women, we hope to gift fellow females with a memorable experience. There is no pressure to connect, hand out business cards or find a mentor. The lack of structure is intended to eliminate the stress and inauthenticity that comes with ‘networking’ events. Walking away with a new quote, a book recommendation or a recipe from the chef is enough. This is about women coming together under the common interest in the evening itself. A love for food, wine and the prospect of something new.

I have always been passionate about creating a business around connecting women. The original idea many years ago was a big digital platform, like an elevated Craigslist for women. I soon realised what a big job this was, so Les Femmes Forum is my starting point. Connecting women over a meal in a unique space eliminates any of the inauthenticity that comes with networking events. You can just come, eat and enjoy.
My first job was in publishing with WHERE Magazine. I was the circulation and event planning manager. I learned many valuable skills that help me now when planning LFF dinners. Like how to get sponsors on board, and how to stay organised with all the minute details.
I wanted to encourage female advancement through women connecting, collaborating and challenging one another.
Social time. I work as a digital strategist by day still. So LFF consumes most of my free time and weekends. But after every event i’m confident what i’m doing is worth it.
Moving to Australia, building a network and starting LFF from nothing. I didn’t know anyone and have been able to build this thing i’m very proud of. I do forget to pat myself on the back from time to time. I actually think most people forget to do that. We just keep going without stopping to take stock.
I’m currently working with a big wine brand to help them launch a new label created by a female wine maker. They came to me and that was huge!
Don’t wait. Just start something. It will get better and easier, but don’t waste time talking yourself out of it.

I’m in the process of working on the BIG vision, a way to connect women globally to support one another in achieving their dreams. I should have something to show very soon…
